I was woking on this archive page from yesterday, but unfortunately a serious headache suddenly hit me. And after a whole night of recovery, I finished it just now.

There are million styles of achive pages, but I just want a simple and integrated one. To merge indexes in one page, monthly archives should be associated with posts someway. So, sliding effect comes to me immediately.

After giving up several schemes, the page finally firmed up like this.

“There seems to be nothing but everything” , that is always what I am working for.

update - 23 Aug, 2008 : Fixed a javascript bug for IE series.

I spent two days or more learning jQuery reference documents and programming this image showcase what you will see at the Header of Yottaworks Studio.

I say it’s light-weighted, because it totally weighs even less than 3 KB(Version2 up to 6KB) uncompressed and attributed, expect for jQuery package (30KB), nearly 100KB lighter than those to be worked with Script.aculo.us or MissingMethod, but already features automatically changing images together with their attributes, and sliding navigator of thumbnail images with fade-in and fade-out effects.

I will consider whether I should release it after enhancing some functions, if possible, if time allows.

Coralsea is My NEW WORK that I am recently working on, and also the name for my first brand-new wordpress theme I made for this summer or even loooonger. Summer is my favorite time of year as it always impresses us with bright colors, cool water, making it the most passionate season for me.

The heat of summer makes the most attractive and refreshing water of all four seasons of year, so I tried to work out this feeling on my web.

Over night and night, I was turning upside and down without sleep, leaving uncountable wild ideas stirring my brain. There were all sorts of web layout surging like the tide water. I just could not keep myself from thinking about that.

I was inspired by many things, cool water in this hot summer, rolling globs of water on lotus leaves in the West Lake of Hangzhou, and diffusing paint, etc. I was also shocked by others’ designs. And not for a few days of my travel, there were already several schemes for my new theme on the whole.

But when it comes to the details, it will be another thing. We often use references to work something out. Sometimes, the more we think about other people’s works, the bigger obstacles they are impressively in front of you.

“Open your heart and let it go.” Said Hayao Miyazaki before he started Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (崖の上のポニョ, Gake no Ue no Ponyo).

Actually, we need to do so. First, put off all the rules, so we can break the rules.

BUT, do you know yotta?
Similar as mega but far more tremendous, yotta is an SI prefix denoting 10²⁴, the largest and last SI prefix to be comfirmed until today 2008 - that is a one followed with twenty-four zeros!

When we say yotta, we mean BIG, sufficiently.
When you come to yottaworks, I hope you will find my wild works, passionate ideas and useful tutorials, which I’ll devote myself to.

It’s horribly crazy to think about a yotta pieces of works in the aspect of quantity. But that’s the determination to work out fantastic designs and paintings as many as possible during all my lifetime.

From now on, Yottaworks™ Studio will run in English, except for some personal diaries about my daily life.

Several months have past since my last update. Times of confusion, times of laziness. Every time I came here, I hesitated to click the write button or swept them all away by directly closing the web browser after writing something.

Now I’m back, with my new address yottaworks.net which will replace the former www.kael.com.cn.

Maybe I should have came back a little earlier, if I didn’t have my right wrist seriously injured that I even couldn’t click the mouse or hold my Wacom pen. It was really tough those days, having my right hand wrapped with flexible bandage and doing all the things with the left one, holding chopsticks, using keyboard, moving mouse and so on.

因为西蒙已经知道，这，恐怕，确乎，是最后一眼了——从打败安提斯拜尔的那一刻，就注定了作为虚构生命的妮娅会从这个世界上永远的消失……

“妮娅，我不会忘记你的，就算……这个宇宙到了毁灭的那一刻……”
“真笨呢，不会毁灭的。为了这个，大家不是都在努力吗？”

西蒙站在原地，低着头，许久没有动作，和周围的人群一样。

最后，西蒙还是选择了离开，离开曾经一起战斗的队友，离开繁华的都市。他拿起披风，和一点典型的英雄一般，转过身，向着夕阳迈开了步子。

转身的那一刹那，就是英雄向自我转变的过程。西蒙完全可以留下，作为对整个人类有着最卓越的功勋的人，理应身居要职，发挥自己应有的才干。但他却选择退隐，活在自己的世界里。无论西蒙当初在战场上怎样热血方刚，冲劲十足，勇猛无畏，无论他曾经是怎样一个光辉的英雄形象，现在，他都是一个纯粹的人，和所有的平凡的人一样。小心地守候着自己心中残存的感动，时常想起曾经度过的一幕又一幕，那些感动的瞬间，欢笑的话语。在每年的那个时候，准时地来到那个空空的坟墓前，献上一束鲜艳的玫瑰……

此时，西蒙仰望着天空，看着曾经引以为豪的红莲之眼冲破云层，消失在视野中。他知道，自己的那股冲劲还没有完全消失，但是，心，早已在十几年前和心爱的人一起，消散在回忆中了。

GAINAX②的机甲动画，总会在战斗之余，让人体会到更多的东西。虽然与12年前的《新世纪福音战士》相比，以新概念机器人以及热血为卖点的《天元突破 红莲之眼》无法取得那神一般的收视率及好评，但，却在今天，莫名地触动了我。与其说是这部动画片中豪爽的视觉表现力，鲜艳的配色，以及打斗时流畅而震撼的运镜打动了我，不如说是最后这不到10分钟的场景式地描写让我心中始终余味袅袅。
我不平，为什么妮娅要死呢？一个永远都保持着活泼开朗的人，一个总是在精神上安抚别人受伤的心，总是用自己的行动鼓舞着大家的斗志的，坚强的女孩子，难道就不应该拥有幸福的权利？于是充满怨念地，跑到动漫论坛，把编剧狠狠地骂了一遍又一遍；像个愤青一样，和别人争论。有人说“如果妮娅不死，就不够神作了”，难道说最后不死人，圆满了就变成陈旧的剧情了吗？经典和庸腐之间就一线之隔。
我不解，我现在所一直纠缠的，在脑海里反复翻腾的，却似乎正是妮娅的死，因为她的死，而把这个动画片里的一些片断看了一次又一次，因为她的死，而更加喜欢这个人物？

人，就是有这样一种贱性。幸福，总会在欢笑中渐渐遗忘在脑后，而刻骨铭心的，却是伤痛。有时，在强迫症般的回忆中，一次次设想，如果当初……，如果当初我没有……的话，如果当初我有……的话……
而更多的，假若真的能够回到当初，西蒙能够为了妮娅抛弃全人类的利益吗？西蒙能有别的选择吗？没有。他如果不打败安提斯拜尔，他更不可能和妮娅在一起。

世间没有假若，即便有了假若，你也会发现，那些，都是无奈。

①天元突破：《天元突破 红莲之眼》（Gurren-Lagann），在《新世纪福音战士》（EVA）之后，由GAINAX的新锐制作人创作的又一部机器人热血动画片，它创造了史上最大的机甲。

②GAINAX：GAINAX是一家日本动画制作公司，于1984年12月24日成立，其最著名的作品为《新世纪福音战士》。

PS：这几天不知道咋了，看动画片也会这样，也许又会有人说我幼稚。

还是没有找到觉得满意的矢量素材，只好狠下心全部自己做，字母上的贴图花了不少时间。图中的蜂鸟参考了一个博客的顶部图片，嘿嘿~

这张图，最后在Photoshop中几乎达到了笔记本硬件的极限，可怜的笔记本，内存占用量始终都保持在1.6G左右，使用滤镜或者保存的时候，CPU都是满负荷运转。

有意地尝试焦点的控制，让人的注意力集中在画面的中部。多少受到Nik Ainley和Nick La的影响。

PS：就这样了，接下来可以安心复习备考鸟~

Adobe Illustrator作为最强大的矢量图像处理软件之一，它在路径制作方面的能力当然比以像素处理为主的Photoshop要高出很多，而我们也经常需要将Ai中的路径转移到PS中进行合成。
但是，在Adobe Illustrator CS3的默认设置下，不能将路径复制到Photoshop中，因此我们需要修改首选项设置。

1. 打开Illustrator，进入菜单“编辑”- “首选项”- “文件处理与剪贴板”，在设置窗口中，AICB的选项下，勾选“保留路径”。如图：

2. 完成上面的设置后，同时打开AI与PS，
在Illustrator中选择路径，复制，
到Photoshop中粘贴，就会出现如下的提示窗口。
选择粘贴为“路径”，确定。
这样，Ai中的路径就复制到PS中了。

突然需要将Ai中的路径复制到PS中，发现在国内的网站中根本没有相关的内容，虽然百度知道上有人问这个问题，但是最佳答案还是那种不负责任的回答。
还好，在国外的PhotoshopSupport上找到了需要的答案，就日志一篇，作为今天的份。
